NY and NJ Airline Cabin and Terminal Cleaners Strike

Over 700 airport cabin and terminal cleaners at JFK and Laguardia in New York and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey began striking on Tuesday, July 11, reported by the New York Daily News. The picketing employees service American, United, and JetBlue airlines under Primeflight, Inc which subcontracts their services. The dispute is over wages, working conditions, and benefits with their employer. Along with the terminal and cabin cleaners, the workers on strike include wheelchair attendants, baggage handlers, skycaps, shuttle drivers, and customer service agents. The strike is planned for three days and it is unclear how it will impact flights.
