$200 Million Donation For Tampa Bay Medical Facility

Local Tampa philanthropists Dr. Kiran Patel and his wife, Dr. Pallavi Patel made a $200 million donation to build and promote a regional medical campus for Nova Southeastern in Clearwater.

The new medical facility could help bolster the perception of the national landscape of Tampa Bay as a burgeoning training ground for the medical community and higher education.  This donation ranks among the largest individual commitments to a college or university.

“Imagine the number of lives you’re going to touch,” Patel said in a phone interview with the Tampa Bay Times. “It is our blessing that we could do this, both because we have the financial capacity and means, but also finding a partner like this.”

We love to see growth in our hometown of Tampa Bay. The relationships we build with the medical community and our commitment to excellent service are vital to the health and well-being of those we care about. The donation from Patel’s is an excellent example of reinvesting in the relationships of our community and the philanthropic goals of that investment will affect many lives for years to come.
